About Us

Findapic Ltd is a registered company with its main office in Timaru, South Canterbury, New Zealand and was developed by a professional photographer (Jeanna McDonald) and website designer (Mark Medlicott) as a way for photographers to be able showcase their photos online, while also allowing visitors to the website to tell all their friends where they can see their school ball photos, sports team photos, Master Games prowess, floral designs, reunions and almost any other event you can think of.

It would also be a way to enable photographers to derive some extra income by spreading their market access. Now a grandmother in Auckland can buy a copy of her grandaughter's picture from Invercargill to hang on her wall, or add to her skite book.

Findapic Ltd welcomes visitors to come and see our operation working, but suggests intending visitors contact us first to ensure a suitable time, and an amicable response.

Hi

I’m Jeanna McDonald a Timaru professional photographer, and along with Mark I am responsible for Findapic.

I have been running a photography business in Timaru now for around six years. Although always passionate about photography it was not until opening my own business that my passion really grew. Although still small my business (Flash Photography) has 3 staff and covers a diverse area of the market, from advertising to portraits and weddings.

I was born in Timaru and although I have lived away from here on a number of different occasions I kept returning home to where my family and friends are. Timaru is a great place to live with plenty always happening.

I live with my partner and my two babies, my dogs. Between doing up my house, walking the dogs and running Flash Photography and Findapic I keep very busy, although I still find time to socialise and relax.

I am looking forward to seeing Findapic grow and getting to know all you fellow photographers. I am hoping that we can build a community of likeminded people all enjoying our photography.

If anyone has any questions for me just email me via the admin or post it on the Forum page and I’ll be in touch.

In the mean time enjoy your photography.

Gidday

I’m Mark Medlicott, fellow director of Findapic Ltd alongside Jeanna. I primarily work as a website designer, recently finishing 6 years of retraining at the local Polytech after what can only be described as a midlife crisis!

I returned home to South Canterbury in the late nineties after 20 years in the hospitality industry in Dunedin due to health complications. After solving these problems as well as could be expected, I went back to High School as an adult student studying computers for 2 years and then moved on to the Polytech. Eventually I found my niche, website design and search engine optimisation (how to get websites found in the search results), and have been developing this business for 4 years while finishing off my studies.

To relax, I still enjoy catching up with old and new friends in the hospitality trade, and have continued my addiction to sport, still playing cricket, bowls and golf when time allows.

When Jeanna first approached me about her idea for Findapic, it was as a website designer, but after discussions we decided to team up, as I felt she had a really good idea that we could grow. Little did either of us know how much work would be involved with the setting up, privacy and copyright issues we had to attend to, before I even wrote any user manuals for the photographers and customers. However, the Findapic concept still excites me, and by the responses we get as we advertise in different regions, I believe the concept excites others too. As such, I hope that Findapic can continue to grow, and that eventually the members will contribute to the overall strategies of the website, driving new ideas that Jeanna, myself or our consultants haven't thought of.

If anyone has any questions for me just email me via the contact page or post your questions in the Forum.
